Here at Wildlife Aid, it is not uncommon to see supposedly 'squirrel proof' bird feeders with a hungry captive brought in to reception. The sneaky squirrels manage to find a way in, but then struggle to get back out!
This proved to be the case recently, when a concerned homeowner brought her little visitor for us to rescue. It was stuck by the hips and seemed very keen to get away!
Cutters in hand, Simon arrived, trying to work out the best way to release the feisty squirrel without letting it lose in our reception! After cutting the bars and bending them back just enough, he finally managed to get the squirrel safely into a pillow case and it was sent back to be released in the garden once again.
