While a disorder can hold you back significantly in certain areas of life, some “disorders” can provide you with significant advantages in other areas of life. As a child, high schooler Wesley J. Trisnadi thought he was just an ordinary kid with a strong imagination. Born with graphemecolor synesthesia, he thought that seeing a color corresponding to a letter is as normal as how one thought can remind you of another. Here Wesley talks about Synesthesia and how this “disorder” may provide disadvantages even in life’s smallest moments, but can fire you to glory at the biggest stages of life.
Wesley has a passion for art forms such as filmmaking, graphic design, and acting. Born to a synesthete mother, he has always thought that seeing a color corresponding to a letter was as normal as thinking one thought that can remind you of another. Thanks to his sister's research, they both realized they have synesthesia and therefore experience the world differently than most people.
