Our Springer Spaniel puppies are 21 days old and we return to the puppy pen to catch up on the young Springers' development. Since our last visit, the puppy's eyes have opened they're much more aware of their surroundings and moving around. With only three pups in the litter, the young Springers are piling on weight and growing rapidly. Owner and breeder Lisa explains she likes them to spend their first few weeks in the whelping pen in the kitchen, so they get used to noise and a home environment. She also handles the puppies regularly. This makes them sqeak. Puppy bariking isn't expected for another few days. The young dogs are from a working line of Springers. They Mum, Poppy, is also doing well. With a small litter, she's losing weight and managing to keep a close eye on her young brood.
