This is a very important topic for me. Puppies are not made of glass but we need to take care when we are training them, and when they are interacting with the environment and other dogs.
Safety tips:
•Warm up and cool down take short walks before and after training.
•Work and play on nonslip areas grass padded flooring and carpet not slippery floors
•Teach your puppy not to jump up for things you are carrying.
•Work on behaviors and tricks that build muscles equally on either side of your puppy's body (If you are going to teach attention heeling, teach it on the left AND right side of your body, and spin left and right etc)
•Make sure your puppy is not sitting on one hip or rolled onto his butt when training behaviors involving sitting.
•Reinforce calmer movements, rather than chaotic ones.
