Sorry for the poor video and audio I was on my way to the gym when I saw this beautiful timber rattlesnake on the busy highway. I moved it off the road and decided to give some identification pointers!
Also, forgive the vertical video I don’t ever film that way but decided to do so to make it FB friendly!
Timber rattlesnakes are one of my favorite native species here in Georgia. As you can see, it was defensive NOT aggressive! It’s a myth that they’re aggressive. This is evidence of that fact! It was just upset because a giant predator (me) was up in its bizness.
