Written recipe preparation: If you don't have readymade (storebought) breadcrumbs, you can make them yourself. Place old bread in the microwave (or oven) for a few minutes to dry it out. Once the bread has cooled, put it in a blender or food processor and grind it. You'll need about 50 to 100 grams of breadcrumbs for the meatballs.
In a deep bowl, add the meat, finely chopped black and white onions, and the egg. Season to taste. Also, add the breadcrumbs to the mixture, then mix everything well. It's best to do this with your hands to ensure all ingredients are well combined. Leave the prepared mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
In a plate, put several tablespoons of flour. The flour will be needed to coat the meatballs before frying. Heat oil in a pan, then slowly lower the shaped meatballs, previously rolled in flour. The meatballs will take a few minutes until they are evenly fried from all sides. Remove the fried meatballs onto a paper towel to drain excess fat.
In the frying fat of the meatballs, add one tablespoon of flour (about 20 grams) and briefly roast it, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Add tomato puree, stir, and then add water. Wait a few minutes for the sauce to simmer. Season with a little salt and pepper if needed. Slowly introduce the meatballs into the sauce and gently mix them to be evenly covered with the sauce.
You can serve the meatballs with boiled rice or potatoes, mashed potatoes, boiled pasta, or whatever you like.
